Job Summary

The Site Engineer will work individually and in a team to develop and implement solutions for Prometric's Global Test Center Network. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, database systems, and experience writing PowerShell scripting.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and integrate new workstation and server hardware.
  • Evaluate and integrate new software or operating systems.
  • Create and support automation solutions for large-scale deployments.
  • Work with Product Owners/Developers to assist in architecting solutions.
  • Work with software packaging to streamline the distribution of new software.
  • Continually improve documentation and creation of KB documents.
  • Strong communication skills are needed to communicate issues, solutions, and their impact on the business across the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the Information Systems field.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a high aptitude for complex systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Operating System and Windows productivity/management tools.
  • Strong and proven ability to work in the Windows desktop environment and deliver enterprise solutions.
  • Knowledge of automation scripting - PowerShell or similar language.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server Roles: Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, etc.
  • Experience with Virtualization Technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
  • Understanding of 3 Tier architecture (web servers, app servers, databases).
  • Knowledge of Database Systems (Microsoft SQL).
  • Experience working with physical server hardware.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound decision-making with the ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Self-motivated and strong ability to take on new challenges.
  • Ability to work individually and as a member of a project team.
  • Ability to work to tight schedules and deadlines.
