Inova Northern Virginia Ambulatory Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art facility located at 3620 Joseph Siewick Drive, Fairfax, VA 22033, on the campus of Fair Oaks Hospital.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our exceptional team of surgical professionals. The ideal candidate will possess at least two or more years of experience in the Operating Room, with a focus on orthopedic surgery.

Responsibilities
  • Scrub surgical procedures under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Assist with transferring patient to the operating room table; assist with positioning the patient, using appropriate equipment and anatomical principles to avoid patient injury
  • Perform initial instrument, sharps and sponge counts with the circulator
  • Prepare and maintain supplies, instruments, equipment and rooms for surgical procedures
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedure
  • Recognize safety hazards and initiates appropriate corrective and/or preventive measures
  • Perform other related duties as a key member of the team supporting the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center
Requirements
  • Two or more years of Surgical Tech (ST) experience
  • Completion of an appropriate Surgical Tech program
  • Surgical Tech certification and/or experience is required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be registered to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • BLS certification is required
