About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil/Site Engineer to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design in Albany, NY. As a key member of our Civil/Site team, you will play a strategic role in facilitating the development process for various projects, including retail complexes, residential developments, and small establishments in downtown business districts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering calculations and create estimates to ensure project feasibility and accuracy.
  • Develop drawings by modifying or replicating prior projects, applying changes and corrections from redlined drawings, and/or creating drawings from sketches of others or from own design.
  • Ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards.
  • Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
  • Interpret and understand drawings from multiple disciplines for specific projects and respond to requests for information regarding same.
  • Conduct field inspections and surveys, investigate variables, obtain measurements, photographs, videos, and take notes; write reports documenting same.
  • Research and apply code provisions to design.
  • Work with senior engineers to create project designs.
  • Create models, including 3D models.
  • Research design options and document findings for project engineer/manager.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures, using own judgment to make adaptations and modifications to existing designs.
  • Assist Project Engineers and leaders as needed in the creation of proposals, client information, and designs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Engineering.
  • EIT or PE preferred.
  • Interest in Civil/Site Engineering projects; prior experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong CAD skills, including AutoCAD, HydroCAD, and WaterCAD.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Civil3D.
  • Land Development project experience.
  • Pipeline project experience is a plus.
  • Site Solar project experience a plus.
  • Stormwater project experience a plus.
  • Grading Design project experience a plus.
