Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for evaluating the needs of residents, providing nursing care directly or through supervision, and participating in interdisciplinary team conferences. You will also be responsible for coordinating medical pre-admission evaluations, reviewing medication records, and participating in the control of communicable diseases and infections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate resident needs and provide nursing care directly or through supervision
  • Coordinate medical pre-admission evaluations and screening of prospective clients
  • Review and update medication records for potential adverse reactions, allergies, interactions, contraindications, and laboratory test modifications
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and the control of communicable diseases and infections
  • Transcribe medication orders and coordinate communication with others
  • Develop professional liaison with physicians, dieticians, hospitals, and pharmacies
  • Comply with State and Federal regulations regarding medical services provided
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a current NYS license and be registered by the NYS Department of Education. You will also need specialized training or one year of experience in treating and developmentally disabled individuals.
