Job Overview

We have an opportunity for a full-time Pediatric RN in our Inpatient Unit. Our top healthcare professionals excel in their practices and provide compassionate, family-centered care to children who need it most. The Inpatient RN is responsible for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care in a collaborative, family-centered environment. This position will provide leadership by acting as an informal and formal leader, preceptor, and through quality improvement efforts. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Shriners Children's Professional Practice Model (FOCUSED), which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluation, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. This is not an all-inclusive list of this job's responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:
  • BSN degree or in process
  • Illinois RN License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Preferred:
  • 2+ years acute care hospital RN experience
  • Pediatric experience in an orthopedic and/or plastics environment
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
