Job Overview

This position involves repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment, as well as implementing preventative maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will be a skilled machine repair professional with experience in reading mechanical and electrical prints, pneumatic schematics, and hydraulic schematics.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform equipment changeovers, troubleshoot issues, and respond to line calls.
  2. Apply electrical skills to repair and maintain high-speed production equipment.
  3. Practice safe work habits, follow lockout/tagout procedures, and complete OSHA training as required.
  4. Respond to equipment calls from line supervisors or operators.
  5. Perform package changeovers and schedule preventative maintenance on equipment.
  6. Participate in daily meetings and report maintenance department objectives and opportunities.
  7. Install and rebuild equipment, troubleshoot pneumatic devices and hydraulic systems, and develop preventative maintenance needs.
  8. Troubleshoot mechanical or electrical problems in a timely manner and take the lead in resolving technical issues.
  9. Interact with the public and other employees in a positive manner and promote a cooperative working environment.
  10. Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands on time frames.
  11. Ability to synthesize complex information and negotiate in a competitive environment.
  12. General understanding of electric and electrical controls and ability to work 12-hour shifts with flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends.
Language Skills

The ability to read, analyze, and interpret common information, reports, and documents is essential. The candidate must also be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or company representatives and effectively present information to management.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this job include walking, standing for long periods, sitting, talking, and hearing. The employee must also be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, sit for long periods, stand frequently, bend, squat, reach, and turn to access files and office equipment. Lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing or pulling with a dolly or pallet jack up to 500 pounds may be required.

Work Environment

The work environment will involve exposure to various unfamiliar conditions, including manufacturing and warehouse plants, where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but increases significantly in warehouse and manufacturing plants.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a related field with proven industry experience, beverage experience a plus.
  • Ability to read schematics and computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical skills, knowledge of OSHA laws, and ability to implement OSHA required training.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English, with bilingual Spanish skills strongly preferred.
  • Must be 18 years or older and have a favorable background and drug screen.
  • Ability and willingness to work 12-hour shifts and a flexible full-time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
