About the FTT - Advisor Digital Solutions Technology Group: This group is dedicated to the development and maintenance of the Portfolio Analytics Tool and Competitor Profile Library, which are essential for the Portfolio Solutions group and Internal Sales operations.
Role of the UI/UX Software Engineer: We are in search of a highly driven and technically adept software engineer with substantial experience in crafting technology solutions for the Digital Solutions Technology group. You will collaborate with product owners, technical leads, engineers, and various teams to create intricate software components while guiding developers on coding standards and best practices. Your strong problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and teamwork ethos, combined with agile methodologies, business acumen, and a commitment to continuous learning, will be vital to your success.
Key Responsibilities of a UI/UX Software Engineer:
- Collaborate with product owners to design and implement software solutions that address business requirements and assist in managing the product backlog.
- Engage in sprint planning, release planning, and prioritization of tasks on the platform.
- Participate in hands-on development, data modeling, code quality assurance, static code analysis, unit testing, design and code reviews, continuous integration, release management, and performance optimization.
- Be involved in all phases of the application lifecycle, including DevOps processes, release deployments, and support.
- Design, prototype, and develop new software components and applications based on functional specifications across the entire stack, including services, web, API, infrastructure, and back-end.
- Coordinate with analyst teams and vendors to execute testing plans and provide support during user acceptance testing.
- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment and build consensus across groups, regions, and functions.
- Engage proactively with key stakeholders to understand business processes.
- Write unit tests to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Be available outside of regular office hours when necessary to troubleshoot and resolve critical issues affecting business operations.
- Plan and coordinate cross-team activities to ensure successful completion of assignments.
- Stay updated on technological advancements and advise senior management on technical implementations.
- Mentor junior developers and technical staff.
Ideal Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Information Technology-related fields.
- Extensive development experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Strong database knowledge and experience with MongoDB.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive software development experience.
- Deep understanding of RESTful web services.
- Significant experience in developing applications within a bi-weekly Agile sprint framework.
- Proficient in JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Agile development, and DevOps methodologies.
- Strong familiarity with AWS platforms and services.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and propose alternatives independently and within teams.
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Highly motivated and capable of working autonomously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience in the Asset Management industry is advantageous.
Work Arrangement: This position is hybrid.
Compensation: At Franklin Templeton, we embrace a total reward philosophy that considers all aspects of compensation and benefits. The expected salary for this role ranges between $128,000 and $150,800.
