Position Overview
The Managed Services Solutions Engineer at SHI GmbH plays a pivotal role in supporting, constructing, managing, configuring, and deploying solutions within the managed platforms or services overseen by the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, implement, and maintain a diverse array of solutions utilizing platform services for both internal operations and client needs.
- Manage and configure platform infrastructures, applications, and collaborative tools effectively.
- Lead and contribute to Managed Services Provider (MSP) projects, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
- Engage directly with clients through regular updates, change requests, meetings, incident responses, and project management, ensuring a clear understanding of their requirements and success metrics.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues to guarantee optimal system functionality.
- Optimize existing environments and standardize processes by developing and utilizing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance service delivery.
- Actively seek opportunities for personal and professional development.
- Track time and document work through SHI's Professional Services Automation (PSA) system, submitting weekly timesheets.
- Mentor and train junior engineering staff and service desk personnel.
- Take ownership of customer Agile Cloud Engineering requests, ensuring alignment and assessment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a managed services context.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of IT support processes and methodologies to assist end users effectively.
- Advanced problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
- Experience with one or more cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Required Skills
- Ability to lead and contribute to IT projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
- Proficiency in managing and administering the Microsoft 365 suite of applications and services.
- Capability to effectively manage and configure Google Workspace applications and collaboration tools.
- Proficiency in remote management and monitoring tools for proactive system maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of security software solutions.
Certifications Required
- M365 Associate or Google Workspace Professional Administrator certification or the ability to obtain within three months of hire.
- ITILv3+ Certification or the ability to obtain within six months of hire.
Additional Information
This position may require occasional travel and could involve overtime and after-hours support. The estimated annual salary range for this role is competitive and based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
