Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welder Team Lead to join our team at Pegasus Steel Group. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of fabrication workers, ensuring the efficient flow of materials and the production of high-quality steel products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Mentor Team Members: Provide guidance and support to Welder I and II team members, helping them to develop their skills and achieve their full potential.
  • Ensure Safety and Quality: Promote a safe working environment and ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Coordinate Activities: Assist in planning and coordinating the activities of fabrication workers, ensuring that production goals are met and deadlines are achieved.
  • Perform Audits and Troubleshooting: Conduct regular audits to ensure that team members are following procedures and protocols, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate clearly and concisely with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure that information is shared effectively.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, plus 3 or more years of demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Welding Certifications: Successful completion of 10 weld tests, including FCAW, GWAW-Pulsed, GMAW-Spray, and GMAW-Pulsed Alloys.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of manufacturing welded steel products and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to build a high-performing team, lead by example, and coach/mentor team members in trade skills.
