Job Description

Ryder System is seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Technician to join our team in Frederick, MD. As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty trucks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and inspections
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, including engine, transmission, and electrical systems
  • Conduct road tests to identify cause of complaints and ensure quality of repair work
  • Interact with customers to facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates
  • Coordinate work schedule with customers and ensure timely completion of tasks
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter and self-sufficient approach
