Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Network Design Engineer to join our GBS IT Infrastructure Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Enterprise Network, which spans multiple public/private clouds, data centers, and offices worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deploy first-of-a-kind infrastructures and tools for networks, meeting business needs and considering target environment, performance, security requirements, and existing systems.
  • Translate high-level designs into low-level designs and produce detailed low-level design and standard operating procedural (SOP) documentation.
  • Take responsibility for first-of-a-kind installation projects, providing effective team leadership, including information flow to and from the customer during project work.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of installations and ensure that appropriate recommendations for change are made.
  • Design test cases and create test scripts and supporting data, working to the specifications provided.
  • Interpret, execute, and record test cases in accordance with project test plans.
  • Analyze and report test activities and results.
  • Identify and report issues and risks.
  • Participate in and follow all Governance processes, including Engineering Review Council (ERC).
  • Use the tools and techniques for specific areas of release and deployment activities.
  • Administer the recording of activities, logging of results, and documents technical activity undertaken.
  • May carry out early support activities, such as providing support advice to initial users.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
  • 8 or more years of experience in a technical network position.
  • 5 or more years of experience in network engineering.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a large, global environment.
  • Experience working in a DevOps or oriented IT environment is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software Defined Networking (SDN) experience.
  • SD-WAN experience.
  • Traditional WAN and LAN technology design experience.
  • DNS and SSL Certificate experience.
  • Automated, virtualized, software defined (Infrastructure as Code), DevOps implementation experience is highly desirable.
  • Network Monitoring and Observability experience.
  • Cloud networking and cloud connectivity experience, preferably with Azure and/or AWS.
  • Internet Connectivity experience.
  • Routing Protocols (eBGP/iBGP/OSPF) experience.
  • Network Security (Zero Trust, ZTNA, ZTA, Micro Segmentation, etc.) experience.
  • Web Content Filtering (zScaler, Fortigate, etc.) experience.
  • Wireless Access (WAPS) experience.
  • IP Addressing (Schemas, VLANS, DNS, DHCP) experience.
  • Remote Access Services (Client VPNs, etc.) experience.
  • Extranets and Site to Site VPNs experience.
  • MPLS Network – Routing and Circuits experience.
  • Voice and video over IP (VVoIP) experience.
  • Quality of Service/Experience (QoS/QoE) and Class of Service (CoS) experience.
  • Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) and Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN) experience.
  • WAN Optimization experience.
  • Firewalls experience.
  • Load Balancers experience.
  • Unified Communications including Audio, Web, and Video Conferencing experience.
  • SIP experience.
  • Switching technologies experience.
  • Network Management tools such as SolarWinds, CloudFlare, InfoBlox, Zabbix, ThousandEyes, PRTG, etc. experience.
  • Experience provisioning and managing networks with automation tools including Ansible and/or Terraform.
  • Experience automating devices like zScaler, Fortinet, Arista, Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto, Ciena, F5, etc.
  • Experience with SD-WAN products such as Cisco, VeloCloud, Viptella, etc.
  • Experience with Network Policy & Network Access control tools such Cisco ISE.
  • Knowledge of Compliance and Data Privacy.
