Key Responsibilities

  • Remain present on the construction site throughout the duration of the project.
  • Document detailed reports regarding the progress of work and contractor compliance with the established schedule.
  • Evaluate the contractor's submissions, including progress schedules, shop drawings, and payment applications.
  • Participate in various meetings with contractors, including preconstruction and progress meetings.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and site safety programs.
  • Support the engineer in acting as the owner's representative with the contractor, gathering necessary information as needed.
  • Assess payment applications from contractors to ensure they meet submission requirements.
  • Provide recommendations to the assigned engineer based on observations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School diploma is mandatory.
  • Certifications in Erosion Control are preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering or Management is advantageous.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to travel is essential.
  • Relevant certifications such as INDOT Inspection or NAASCO are beneficial.
  • Familiarity with federally funded infrastructure projects is a plus.
  • Experience with Procore software is an asset.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans is required.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and organizational capabilities.
