Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our team at Flatiron Construction Corp. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the collection of cost data, monitoring project budget and estimates, and ensuring quality and contract specification compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with engineering teams to review production schedules and confirm availability of materials, equipment, and resources.
  • Review shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
  • Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling, identifying risk elements that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
  • Evaluate weekly and monthly production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance.
  • Document daily activities using Company-approved methods and technologies.
  • Update project schedules weekly for owner and management reporting.
  • Attend weekly owner meetings and present on project production status as needed.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 7+ years of construction engineering experience.
  • Experience managing construction engineering teams.
  • Proven skill and ability to manage engineering teams in a design-build or alternative build project.
  • Advanced planning and scheduling skills.
  • Able to drive direct reports and influence non-reporting teams towards a common deliverable.
  • Able to set clear expectations for direct reports regarding role and responsibilities.
  • Able to delegate and assign work to engineering teams to progress the project forward.
  • Able to manage multiple engineering tasks and progress them towards a common goal.
  • Advanced knowledge of contract specifications and quality assurance practices.
  • Able to identify budget and project costs and recommend options to mitigate project delays.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of design-build and alternative build techniques.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting methods, quantity tracking methods, and cost coding.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
