Job Purpose

As an Electrical Field Service Technician II at EnerSys, you will provide technical and application support for our products and services in the assigned area, ensuring profitable margins and alignment with our business plan. Your contributions will help drive service-related sales and service targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer sites to install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Follow company policies and procedures, including warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000 guidelines
  • Operate material handling equipment per OSHA requirements
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean working environment
  • Record performance reports and interact with various levels of people within and outside the company
  • Develop and conduct training on safe equipment operations and demonstrate skills to trainees
  • Provide a communication link between customers and the company to ensure effective service delivery
  • Ensure high-quality service to guarantee customer satisfaction
  • Generate substantial annual revenues
  • Work independently without direct supervision
  • Perform mathematical calculations and complete compliance and job-specific training
  • Replace defective parts, reassemble and repair batteries, and install new equipment at customer facilities
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Submit timely reports on activities, including service reports, expense reports, quality alerts, and maintenance reports
  • Be responsible for company assets, including service vehicles, parts inventory, tools, and test equipment
Requirements
  • 4-6 years of customer service experience in field support
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Previous experience working with hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and write documents in English
  • Mathematical skills, including basic arithmetic and equation solving
  • Experience in the Electrical field
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electronic, or Electrical fields
  • Basic electrical understanding
  • Experience with test equipment and reading schematics
  • Hands-on job experience

  • Ability and willingness to do overnight travel
  • Ability and willingness to operate a forklift
  • Must be able to pass the company's driving requirements
  • Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Ability to differentiate colors
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily basis
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Responsibility for wearing Personal Protective Equipment
  • Ability and willingness to be on-call
  • Ability and willingness to wear a respirator
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime
  • Ability and willingness to work varying schedules
  • Risk of electrical shock
  • Exposure to harmful materials, including lead and fiberglass products
  • Work in a plant/warehouse environment
