Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer II to enhance our innovative team.
This role presents a unique opportunity for a qualified individual to leverage their expertise in product development, conceptual design, and manufacturing optimization.
The successful candidate will possess advanced skills in 3D CAD, thermoplastic components, and stamped metal, and will be enthusiastic about guiding junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer II, your primary duties will include:
- Leading product development projects from initial concept through to production, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Creating and executing innovative design concepts that fulfill customer needs while adhering to industry standards.
- Applying advanced design for manufacturing techniques to enhance product design and manufacturing processes.
- Utilizing sophisticated 3D CAD tools to produce detailed design models and technical documentation.
- Designing and testing thermoplastic and stamped metal components, performing failure analyses, and implementing necessary improvements.
- Providing mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and technical skills.
- Collaborating with various teams, including production, quality assurance, and sales, to ensure product designs meet all specifications.
- Continuously assessing and refining engineering processes to promote ongoing improvement.
Qualifications:
To qualify for the Senior Mechanical Engineer II position, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in engineering, particularly in product development and manufacturing design.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (CREO preferred but not mandatory), with a strong capability in producing detailed design models and documentation.
- Significant experience with thermoplastic and stamped metal components, demonstrating a successful history in their development and testing.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of mentoring junior engineers.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive mindset, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting stringent deadlines.
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification is advantageous.
