We are seeking a highly skilled Correctional Officer to join our team at the Wilson County Sheriff's Department. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our facility and its inmates.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and process new prisoners, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Oversee security measures, including monitoring inmate activities and responding to emergencies.
- Issue supplies and assign temporary housing to inmates, ensuring their needs are met.
- Provide regular visual observation and supervision of prisoners, preventing misbehavior and maintaining order.
- Develop strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with inmates, respecting their rights and dignity.
- Attend Tennessee Corrections Institute and obtain certification within one year.
To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma and be able to pass a background check. You will also need to provide a Social Security card and Photo ID to process your application.
