Role Summary
The Leading Teacher Literacy Range 3 is a key leadership role that focuses on improving the skill, knowledge, and performance of the teaching workforce in a school or group of schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and leading the implementation of whole-school improvement initiatives related to literacy and numeracy, as well as developing and managing the school's curriculum and assessment policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the implementation of whole-school improvement initiatives related to literacy and numeracy
- Develop and manage the school's curriculum and assessment policies
- Provide professional development and coaching to teaching staff
- Lead and manage staff performance and development
- Teach demonstration lessons
- Lead and manage the development of the school's assessment and reporting policies and practices
- Lead and manage the implementation of the school operations and policies related to student welfare and discipline
- Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school
- Develop and manage the school code of conduct
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching
- Demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders
- Knowledge of curriculum and assessment policies and practices
