Job Description

Role Summary

The Leading Teacher Literacy Range 3 is a key leadership role that focuses on improving the skill, knowledge, and performance of the teaching workforce in a school or group of schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and leading the implementation of whole-school improvement initiatives related to literacy and numeracy, as well as developing and managing the school's curriculum and assessment policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the implementation of whole-school improvement initiatives related to literacy and numeracy
  • Develop and manage the school's curriculum and assessment policies
  • Provide professional development and coaching to teaching staff
  • Lead and manage staff performance and development
  • Teach demonstration lessons
  • Lead and manage the development of the school's assessment and reporting policies and practices
  • Lead and manage the implementation of the school operations and policies related to student welfare and discipline
  • Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school
  • Develop and manage the school code of conduct

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching
  • Demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of curriculum and assessment policies and practices
