Main Responsibilities

As a Learning Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of curriculum review processes, refining knowledge and understanding of the curriculum continuum of learning. This includes leadership and development of professional learning on skilled differentiation that supports student learning, reasonable adjustments to learning programs, lessons, sequencing, and differentiated assessment.

You will also develop multi-entry and exit rubrics that demonstrate developmental learning, collaborate with Literacy and Numeracy leaders to plan for school-wide improvement, and work with the Inclusion Leader to support the development of knowledge and resources to differentiate for student need.

Additionally, you will teach demonstration lessons, including collating exemplar teaching practice for peer observation and professional learning, develop formative and summative data literacy skills, and oversee the implementation of differentiation alongside Curriculum Area Leaders and the college School Improvement Team and Teaching and Learning team.

Furthermore, you will coach specified teams of staff within the college, offering in-class support, coaching, modeling, and support for teachers to collect, interpret, and utilize various forms of assessment data to inform teaching practice. You will also lead Professional Learning Communities through working with all staff in developing skills, knowledge, and understanding of Differentiation and using the inquiry cycle.

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must be a teacher currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
