The Paramedic Specialist plays a vital role in the Emergency Department at Granville Health System, working under the direction of the Medical Director. This position requires a graduate of an accredited Paramedic Program with current North Carolina EMT-P Paramedic certification. A minimum of 1-year recent clinical experience in an emergency care setting is preferred, including Emergency Services and/or Intensive Care Units. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in current practices and competencies of hospital-based paramedic care, with certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. The Paramedic Specialist will be responsible for collecting pertinent data within their certified scope of responsibilities and effectively reporting physical, clinical, psychosocial, etc., findings to the Charge/Care RN and ED duty physician. This role requires adherence to National Patient Safety Goals and CMS guidelines, as well as a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
