Job Summary:

As a Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technologist at Granville Health System, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of laboratory results. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory duties, including venipuncture phlebotomy, and maintain workflow by prioritizing, processing, and resulting of physician orders.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of test results, and assume responsibility for sections of the laboratory assigned to you within established federal guidelines.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for laboratory areas, and maintain knowledge of hospital and laboratory information systems.
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Director to meet budget requirements, including capital requests and goals, and promote teamwork with department staff, physicians, and hospital personnel.
  • Participate in the Laboratory Performance Improvement program to improve skills, lab productivity, communication, and teamwork within the hospital.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science with MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent, or Associate Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science with MLT(ASCP) certification or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing, depending on degree level.
  • Current NC driver's license and experience with computers, filing, leadership skills, laboratory billing, quality control, and CPT code knowledge.
