A Senior Design Engineer is needed for a major U.S. defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics. The Senior Design Engineer will oversee propeller system inspections, support component design, and collaborate globally on technical issues and testing.
Key Responsibilities:- Support Military and Commercial Propeller Platforms: Provide design support across all design phases, including concept, optimization, preliminary, detailed design, development, validation, certification, manufacturing, and operational service.
- Design Mechanical Components and Assemblies: Focus on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Support Manufacturing: Address non-conformances and troubleshoot assembly/testing issues.
- Generate Reports: Based on analysis and test activities.
- Interact with Customers and Suppliers: Internal and external.
- Participate in Design Engineering Teams: Internal and external product design engineering teams and reviews.
- Bachelor's Degree: 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Aerospace Experience: Project engineering experience, manufacturing support, and in-service engineering support for maintenance activities.
- CAD Software: Siemens NX/Unigraphics or similar.
- Design Experience: Mechanical assemblies with standard parts.
- Dimensioning and Tolerancing: ASME Y14.5.
- Microsoft Office: Typical programs.
