Job Title: Physical Design Methodology CAD Engineer

Are you passionate about creating innovative solutions to complex challenges? Do you have a knack for designing high-performance, power-efficient systems-on-chip (SoCs)? We're seeking a talented Physical Design Methodology CAD Engineer to join our team at Apple.

About the Role

As a Physical Design Methodology CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge CAD tools and methodologies to enable the design of next-generation SoCs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to tackle key physical design challenges and develop innovative solutions in the physical design and optimization space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and support implementation flows for multiple projects and design teams
  • Develop and maintain custom CAD tools for implementation and signoff
  • Create flows to enable successful deployment of new technology nodes
  • Develop tools and methodologies for best-in-class PPA and productivity, including ML-based solutions
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as physical design verification, RC extraction, IR, and static timing analysis (STA)
  • Work directly with EDA tool vendors to resolve tool issues and identify areas for tool improvements
Requirements
  • Experience in CAD Tool, CAD flow, or PD methodology
  • Knowledge of Tcl, Python, or Perl scripting languages
  • Understanding of some of the analysis involved in Physical Design - extraction, timing, noise, physical verification, EMIR
  • Minimum requirement of BS+ 3 years of relevant industry experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on knowledge of industry-standard PNR tools
  • Hands-on experience with high-performance and low-power implementation flows
