The City of Racine is seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Specialist to join our team. As a Nutrition Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition advice and guidance to clients and their families. You will work closely with the Public Health Director and other team members to develop and implement effective nutrition plans that promote healthy eating habits and improve overall health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Nutrition Assessments: Conduct thorough nutrition assessments to determine the dietary needs of clients and develop personalized nutrition plans.
- Counseling and Education: Provide expert counseling and education to clients on healthy eating habits, nutrition, and wellness.
- Program Development: Collaborate with the Public Health Director and other team members to develop and implement effective nutrition programs and services.
- Community Outreach: Participate in community outreach and education efforts to promote healthy eating habits and nutrition awareness.
- Grant Writing: Assist in the development and submission of grant proposals to secure funding for nutrition programs and services.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in nutrition, dietetics, foods and nutrition, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in the field of nutrition, with a strong background in nutrition assessment, counseling, and program development.
- Certifications: Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain such certification within six months of hire.
- Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Experience: Three years of experience working with a governmental public health agency.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and community partners.
