Responsibilities of the Practical Nursing Specialist:
As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will:
  • Oversee the daily operations of nursing assistants.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and support personnel to plan and implement services, programs, and activities for your shift.
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
  • Conduct admissions, transfers, and discharges of residents as necessary.
  • Foster a positive working relationship with inter-departmental staff to ensure the highest quality of care for residents.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations regarding equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.

Qualifications for the Practical Nursing Specialist:
  • Current Nursing License in Illinois (Required)
  • Current CPR Certification (Preferred)
