Position Overview:
The Production Cook is responsible for food preparation and service for patients, cafeteria patrons, and catering events, adhering to the guidelines and standards set forth by the department.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review the menu and plan food preparation for the following day, which may involve thawing meat in a timely manner according to the menu. Organize the cooking schedule to ensure timely task completion.
- Prepare and serve a variety of foods, including hot grilled and deep-fried items for patients, cafeteria customers, and catering functions, following required recipes.
- Conduct basic cold food preparation for salads, desserts, and setups for patients and cafeteria services as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing work surfaces, cooking equipment, utensils, and storage areas. Properly cover, label, date, and store leftover food items.
- Restock supplies as necessary.
