Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Supervisor to join our team at KVC Health Systems. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating patient care activities on assigned shifts, directing licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel, and participating in staff development and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate patient care activities on assigned shifts, ensuring adequate staff-patient ratios and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Direct licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in staff development and evaluation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance nursing practice.
  • Assist in direct patient care, providing individualized attention and support to patients and their families.
  • Represent management and administration in their absence, ensuring continuity of care and maintaining open communication with staff and patients.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • At least 2 years of prior experience or training in psychiatric nursing or ANCC certification in psychiatric nursing required.
  • Valid drivers license and auto insurance required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kansas.
  • ANCC certification for psychiatric nursing preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • More than two years of experience supervising registered nurses providing psychiatric patient care.
  • Experience utilizing electronic medical administration records and health records.
