Position Overview

The Class B CDL Driver plays a crucial role in the transportation of our seafood products, navigating both urban and highway routes to ensure timely deliveries to our clients. This position also involves assisting with product collection from the airport and facilitating the transfer of goods between various company sites. Adherence to safety regulations set forth by the Department of Transportation and company policies is paramount.

In this role, the Class B CDL Driver will engage with customers, vendors, and team members, necessitating a professional demeanor and the execution of exemplary customer service practices.

This is an hourly position with eligibility for overtime, primarily covering shifts from Thursday to Monday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy-duty trucks transporting loads exceeding 10,000 pounds.
  • Conduct inspections of cargo to confirm proper packing.
  • Deliver products to designated locations according to a pre-established route.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Load and organize inventory from the warehouse into the vehicle and manage unloading as required throughout the day.
  • Comply with all traffic regulations at all times.
  • Adhere to safety protocols for loading and unloading products.
  • Document delivery confirmations upon arrival at client locations.
  • Obtain signatures from recipients at delivery points.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in tractor-trailer driving.
  • At least 1 year of experience in urban driving.
  • Background in food manufacturing, particularly in seafood or meat processing, is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work weekends as needed.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
  • Possession of a valid Class B Driver's License is required.
  • Experience with hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts is a plus.
  • Proficient in maneuvering and parking tractor-trailers.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and productive work environment.
  • Encouragement of teamwork and open communication.

Additional Considerations

  • Ability to lift weights ranging from 30 to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work up to 10 hours per day, primarily standing or walking.
  • Manual dexterity for tasks involving grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Physical capability to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning agents.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions, including below freezing.
  • Flexibility to work in both wet and dry environments.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment, including knives.
