POSITION SUMMARYOur physical therapists provide inpatient and outpatient services for young patients who have diverse medical, oncologic, neurologic, orthopedic and developmental-related conditions. Physical Therapy provides service to patients in accordance with standards of practice while demonstrating progression of treatment plans and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions; report on patient progress through appropriate written documentation; collaborate with physicians, patients, family, and other members of health care team relative to patient treatment and progress as well as other affiliated agencies with regard to effective discharge planning; use unscheduled time to flex to other work areas for patient treatment.RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrate proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies; attend and participate in departmental meetings, in-services, rounds and peer reviews; participate in program development as assigned by site leader; and participate in continuing education programs or other opportunities for learning for continued professional competency. Coordinate and prioritize own schedule in relation to demands of patient treatment and other departmental responsibilities. Serve as a preceptor and act as a mentor for new staff therapist, students, and rehabilitation aides; train in advanced and/or specialized treatment tools and techniques.WORK EXPERIENCEAt least three-years Physical Therapy job related experienceIn patient pediatric acute care experience preferredEDUCATIONRequired: Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent experiencePreferred: Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experienceLICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONSRequired: License to practice Physical Therapy in the state of TexasRequired: Current CPR/BLS Certification with the American Heart Association of Healthcare Providers upon hireA Place Where You BelongWe put our people first.
