Job Description and Duties

This position is for the Department of State Hospitals Coalinga.

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, and under the clinical lead and direction of a Psychologist with competence in applied behavior analysis, participates in developing behavioral programs based upon assessments and analyses. The incumbent performs duties of an average degree of difficulty and is responsible for providing behavioral services to individuals with challenging behavior.

Working Conditions

The employee is required to work any shift and schedule in a variety of settings throughout the hospital and may be required to work overtime and float to other work locations as determined by the operational needs of the hospital. All employees are required to have an annual health review and repeat health reviews whenever necessary to ascertain that they are free from symptoms indicating the presence of infection and are able to safely perform their essential job duties.

Special Requirements
  • The position requires completion of educational courses as specified in the Class Specification.
  • The position requires a Drug Screening to be passed prior to being hired.
  • The position requires a Background Investigation to be cleared prior to being hired.
  • The position requires Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
