Job Summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBA&D) is a leading provider of energetic and non-energetic system solutions to the aerospace, satellite, and defense industries. We are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join our team in Simsbury, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Verify that manufactured products or processes meet defined requirements.
  • Support Shop Floor Production Cells with inspection and measurement activities.
  • Record inspection results in a clear and organized manner.
  • Assist the Quality Engineer with certification data packages, contract quality data packages, and First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Properly document and control non-conforming product.
  • Assist the product team in analyzing process and product defect data, including root-cause, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support internal and customer quality system and safety audits.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience as an inspector in an aerospace, defense, or medical environment.
  • Experience with basic measuring equipment such as shadow graphs, calipers, micrometers, height gages, and hardness testers.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical product drawings.
  • Perform visual, dimensional, 1st piece, and final inspection of detailed parts and assemblies.
  • Accurate records of inspections performed, and creation of discrepancy reports is required.
  • Familiarity with corrective action systems, nonconforming material control systems, and configuration management practices in an AS9100/ISO9000 environment.
  • Experience in a production team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite software.
  • Basic background in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement.
  • Ability to manage time to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.

  • Electronics Inspection Experience (Component Inspection, PCB Assembly, Electromechanical Assembly, and IPC & J-STD Specification Knowledge)
  • IPC-A-620 Inspection Certification
  • J-STD-001 Space Addendum Inspection Certification
