Job Title: Quality Engineer - Electronics

At Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD), we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our team. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide organizational support for customer programs and supplier quality requirements.
  • Lead quality functions for assigned programs from proposal through shipment to customer while complying with customer requirements and achieving EBAD cost and delivery expectations.
  • Actively participate in IPTs, FMEAs, new product development, and product failure investigations.
  • Host customer quality audits and participates in internal quality audits.
  • Interface with suppliers and customers concerning program quality requirements.
  • Develops, modifies, coordinates and documents the implementation, evaluation and maintenance of quality assurance programs and systems.
  • Maintain product First Article status in accordance with customer and AS9102 requirements.
  • Develop IPs for suppliers and internal manufacturing.
  • Issue internal and supplier Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA).
  • Provides advice and guidance in interpreting and adapting quality standards and government regulations.
  • Analyzes design reliability and quality to recommend process changes and enhancements.
  • Works closely with Engineering in bringing quality products to production readiness.
  • Facilitate customer and/or government source inspection.
  • Verify customer requirements though creation of End Item Data Packages.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current ISO 9001/AS 9100 quality systems.
  • Working knowledge with interpretation of engineering specifications, mechanical drawing and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of process capability concepts including Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques.
  • Fundamental knowledge of root cause/corrective and preventative action and the ability to walk project teams and customers through the analysis.
  • Understanding of, Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices, Problem Solving Skills and in-depth understanding ERP/MRP planning systems.
  • Strong skills in MS Windows - Excel, Word and Power-point. Familiar with and able to work in MS Project.
Preferred Skills:
  • IPC & J-STD Specification knowledge.
  • Electronics Testing Experience (Oscilloscopes, Meters, Power Supplies, etc.).
  • Six Sigma Black or Green Belt.
  • ASQ CQE/CQM Certification.
  • Experience working in military or aerospace quality systems.
  • Significant experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
