Key Responsibilities- Perform scheduled maintenance, electrical safety, and functional testing on various medical equipment, adhering to departmental and manufacturer protocols and specifications.
- Repair defective medical equipment, including specialized equipment, to meet or exceed manufacturer specifications.
- Oversee manufacturer or third-party vendors as required.
- Support clinical equipment, medical staff, technicians, and administrators with technical assistance and advice.
- Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate records for all work performed.
- Participate in staff in-service educational programs.
- Participate in pre-purchase evaluation programs as required.
- Provide technical consultation to other department personnel.
- Perform evaluation of equipment failures to identify trends, design, and/or use problems.
- Perform authorized equipment modifications, design, and fabrication of specialized devices.
- Perform installations of clinical equipment and other technical devices.
- Associate's, bachelor's degree, or military equivalent program in Biomedical Engineering/Electronics, Electronic Technology.
- Must have and maintain ACI (or current credential) certification as a CBET, CRES, CLES.
- A minimum of four years' experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment.
