Meat Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Meat Associate to join our team at SpartanNash. As a Meat Associate, you will be responsible for preparing and producing meat products, packaging and labeling them according to program plans, and merchandising them to meet customer expectations. You will also be responsible for stocking backroom inventory, rotating and dating cases and buckets, and notifying the Meat Manager when products and supplies need to be ordered.

• Prepare and produce meat products to meet production planner requirements
• Package and label meat products according to program plans
• Merchandise meat products to meet flight plan and merchandising expectations
• Stock backroom inventory with meat products, rotating and dating cases and buckets
• Notify the Meat Manager when products and supplies need to be ordered
• Work collaboratively with other departments and stores to achieve growth in our SpartanNash Retail stores
• Understand basic mathematical functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights, and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates
• Follow all PPE and safety guidelines
• Follow all food safety and cleaning expectations
• Follow guest experience guidelines
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs

• High school diploma (GED) preferred
• One year of retail or related experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
• Basic mathematical skills
• Detail-oriented

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
