About the Role

The Senior Investment Consultant is a key member of the Investment and Fiduciary Consulting team at Ascensus. This role is responsible for providing investment advice and services to retirement plan clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively advise corporate plan sponsors on plan investment structure, asset allocation, and investment manager selection in support of their retirement plans.
  • Develop investment policy statements and deliver quarterly investment reviews.
  • Formulate target return and risk-based portfolios using internal capital market assumptions and asset allocation tools.
  • Develop hedging strategies for asset-liability management.
  • Develop client meeting materials with focus and attention to detail.
  • Protect, secure, and properly handle all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.
  • Support the I-Client service philosophy and Core Values of People Matter, Quality First, and Integrity Always in daily actions, demonstrating organizational culture support.

Travel and Supervision

  • Senior Investment Consultants typically have moderate-to-high travel schedules during a six-to-eight week period each quarter, although most meetings are now conducted virtually.
  • No supervision is required for this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or economics from an accredited university and/or hold the CFA designation; a master's degree is a plus.
  • Ten-plus years of experience working in a related position focusing on providing investment advice and services to retirement plan clients.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as interaction with clients, the team, and other areas of the firm is critical to success.
  • Ideal candidates will be able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment and will be a self-starter working continuously under tight deadlines.
  • Securities licenses or agreement to pursue (FINRA Series 6 or 7, 66, etc.).
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, project management skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong MS Office skills, including MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat.
