Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Leader to join our Youth and Family Education team. As a Group Leader, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our Summer Youth Enrichment Program, providing a safe and supportive environment for participants to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily operations of the Summer Youth Enrichment Program, ensuring the smooth delivery of activities and events.
  • Manage the behavior of participants in your group, promoting positive behavior and adherence to program rules.
  • Facilitate the delivery of 7 Habits and LitCamp curriculum, teaching or assisting in teaching a Choice Class.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisory staff to ensure the overall success of the program.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma with 2-3 years of work-related experience in Elementary Education and/or child care.
  • Self-motivated, with strong initiative and time management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Cultural flexibility, competency in working with multi-cultural participants, and experience working with inner-city and un-churched youth.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance
  • PA State Police Criminal Record Check
  • FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check
  • Valid National Sex Offender Registry Clearance
  • TB Test
  • Health Physical to meet DHS compliance for licensed School Age Centers
  • 10 hours Health and Safety Training
  • Mandated Reporter training
