Job Summary:

This position is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, valves, fixtures, drainage systems, and other plumbing used for water distribution, wastewater disposal, steam distribution, and medical gas distribution.

The Maintenance Plumber performs scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and site surveys, and responds to, diagnoses, and resolves plumbing emergencies.

The Plumber is skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade and completes light construction work as required.

This position requires knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices.

This position requires the ability to read and follow blueprints, rough drawings, building plans, and repair manuals.

The Plumber requires familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and site surveys
  • Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies
  • Use hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade
  • Complete light construction work as required
  • Read and follow blueprints, rough drawings, building plans, and repair manuals
  • Work effectively and assertively with a group of customers to meet identified needs and to cooperatively resolve issues and implement solutions
  • Effectively troubleshoot equipment problems and perform repairs or recommend solutions to solve the problem

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and creatively solve problems without immediate supervision and at times unassisted
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and use time wisely and to effectively manage multiple projects with multiple timelines
