This position is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients of the Great Plains Tribal Leaders' Health Board (GPTLHB).
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illnesses and injuries.
- Conduct physical examinations, take medical histories, and order diagnostic tests as necessary.
- Prescribe medications and treatments, and refer patients to specialists when necessary.
- Monitor patients' conditions and progress, and reevaluate treatments as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure quality care.
- Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school.
- Successful completion of postgraduate training and an approved residency program.
- Permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of South Dakota.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
This position requires working in a clinic setting, which may involve exposure to infectious diseases and other health hazards. The employee must be able to lift and move light objects, and occasionally lift heavier objects.
