We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing operations and supplier relationships effectively.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Generate purchase orders for designated products and services, negotiate costs, and ensure supplier adherence to delivery schedules and quality standards; address any invoice discrepancies that arise.
- Explore and assess both new and existing key suppliers, including opportunities for dual sourcing of critical long lead-time components.
- Cultivate and sustain supplier partnerships to achieve optimal pricing, service quality, and timely delivery.
- Identify and pursue cost reduction and avoidance initiatives; engage in projects aimed at reducing expenses.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to minimize costs while ensuring high service standards; proactively mitigate material shortages.
- Oversee supplier performance; ensure that suppliers meet acceptable performance standards and participate in Supplier Team Audits and site evaluations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as customer service, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and finance, to enhance processes that support customer service excellence.
- Work closely with Supplier Quality teams to address defective or unsatisfactory goods or services, identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures to reduce production impact.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain within a manufacturing context is preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related business field is preferred.
