Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Tech to join our team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will oversee the comfort and engagement of patients during their stay for stabilization. You will work closely with the nursing team to maintain a calm and therapeutic milieu, assist with vital signs and point of care testing, and intervene in the administration of Seclusion and Restraint as needed.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain the safety and comfort of patients during their stay in the center
  • Conduct security screening and inventory property of individuals upon admission to the facility
  • Intervene with escalated individuals using therapeutic techniques for de-escalation and perform restraints/seclusions when needed
  • Lift, move, and transport individuals using proper body mechanics or lifting devices
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring
  • Conduct and document individual's vitals and report all questionable results to the RN/Physician
  • Conduct and document BAL, urine drug screens, and urine pregnancy tests
  • Document all services and significant individual interactions in the electronic health record
  • Maintain and ensure the cleanliness of the facility and designated assigned unit
  • Perform light cleaning of interior center, collect soiled linen, and launder individual's clothing when needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain upon hire
  • 1-3 years' experience in a behavioral health setting working in a similar role
  • Compassionate attitude towards patients
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills
  • Food Handlers Card desired or willingness to obtain
