Role Summary:
The Paint Preparation Specialist is responsible for getting products ready for the painting process. This includes washing, masking, sanding, and caulking items according to established guidelines. The individual in this position will also transport products to the painting area.
After the painting process is complete, the Paint Preparation Specialist will remove all protective tape and paper, ensuring a tidy and safe workspace.
The ideal candidate is a proactive multi-tasker with a strong work ethic, dedicated to meeting all quality standards in the painting process.
Key Responsibilities:
Thoroughly wash products to eliminate all contaminants.
- Carefully mark and mask areas of the product using tape and masking paper to safeguard them during painting.
- Remove and properly dispose of tape and masking materials once the paint has dried.
- Apply caulk to any cracks as needed, utilizing pneumatic and hand-operated caulking tools.
- Move products into the painting area by operating the conveyor system or transporting loaded racks.
- Sand or prepare surfaces adequately for painting.
- Handle paint, related materials, and hazardous waste in accordance with safety protocols.
- Conduct necessary quality assurance checks and complete required documentation.
- Dispose of paint, solvents, rags, and masking materials appropriately.
- Execute the above tasks to facilitate the application of successive colors on the same product as necessary.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
