Shift: 12-hour Night Shift

Position Overview:
  • Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) are responsible for administering respiratory care and life support to patients experiencing issues with their cardiopulmonary system.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be tasked with delivering patient care grounded in scientific principles of respiratory therapy. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Setting up and managing equipment such as mechanical ventilators and aerosol delivery systems according to treatment protocols.
  • Providing urgent care interventions, including artificial ventilation and support during cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Assessing treatment needs, including therapy type, duration, and necessary precautions, along with medication administration.
  • Monitoring patient responses to therapy, including vital signs and blood gas levels, and consulting with medical staff as needed.
  • Conducting pulmonary function tests and optimizing equipment settings for effective therapy.
  • Performing bronchopulmonary drainage and guiding patients in breathing exercises.
  • Administering diagnostic tests such as EKGs and lung capacity assessments.
  • Educating patients and their families on respiratory conditions and effective management strategies.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized patient records and therapy documentation.
  • Executing additional responsibilities as required based on the specific clinical environment.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Current Massachusetts state license.
  • Demonstrated cognitive abilities relevant to the role.
  • Valid certifications in BLS, ACLS, and RRT.
