We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Physician to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. Key Responsibilities- Provide occupational health services to employees, including medical evaluations, treatment, and referrals.
- Assess and diagnose work-related injuries and illnesses, and develop plans for prevention and risk reduction.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide quality care and patient education.
- Conduct comprehensive histories and physicals, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and initiate and adjust therapeutic regimens.
- Serve as a Medical Review Officer (MRO) and conduct fitness for duty exams.
- Develop and implement occupational health policies and standards in accordance with VHA directives and regulations.
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency training in Occupational Medicine or equivalent experience.
- Board certification in Occupational Medicine.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Experience as a certified Medical Review Officer and Commercial Driver.
- Certified Medical Examiner.
- Experience in supervising employees.
This position requires moderate lifting, carrying objects, frequent reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, hands and legs, use of cranes and motor vehicles, walking & standing up to 8 hours, bending and climbing, and able to hear whisper.
EducationDoctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
