Key Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts on key projects as the primary lead engineer responsible for overall vision, quality, and implementation.
  • Establish and reinforce expectations of the studio discipline throughout all project phases.
  • Build, develop and maintain new and long-standing relationships with clients.
  • Participate with firm and studio leadership to vision, plan and implement strategic initiatives, quality requirements, and policy.
  • Manage and assist with marketing or other engineering groups.
  • Work with all disciplines to build the team performance.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the work of Engineers, EITs, and Specialists.
  • Mentors and develops training and educational opportunities for our staff engineers and technicians in all aspects of the work including communication, management, project quality and sales.
  • Attends client meetings and communicates with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various stages of project development.
  • Performs marketing and business development activities including building relationship with key clients and strategic partners, proposal writing, fee estimates, and client interviews.
  • Participates in recruiting and hiring for discipline.
  • Assists Project Managers with fee development for engineering portions of work.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years licensed experience / 5+ years team management
  • ABET-accredited degree in Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer required
  • General Characteristics
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of codes and related industry standards
  • Production experience preparing deliverable drawing sets in Revit and AutoCAD required
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency using industry standard calculation software required
  • Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately
