We are seeking a skilled Bread Baker - Pastry Specialist to join our team at Gjelina Group. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of baked goods, including scones, desserts, cakes, cookies, pies, and bread.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastry items, including breads, cakes, and pastries, following traditional and modern recipes.
- Manage your time effectively, taking regular breaks and reporting for duty on time.
- Collaborate with our chefs to create new and exciting desserts according to the season.
- Restock all items as needed throughout your shift.
- Clean and maintain your station, adhering to good safety, sanitation, and organizational practices.
- Help with other kitchen duties as assigned by our chefs to ensure all department needs are met.
- 1-2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a bakery or pastry kitchen.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and organization.
- Previous baking/pastry experience and understanding of basic cooking skills, knife handling, and safety.
You will be working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time. You must be able to move, pull, push, carry, or lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and 30 pounds regularly. You will also be required to work in conditions of environmental exposure to cold, heat, and water.
