Patient Care AssistantCabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to work with our team in the SICU.
The Patient Care Assistant works in a supporting role to nursing by conducting patient care activities. Under nursing or medical supervision, applicants provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing care.
Responsibilities include:
- Cleaning and maintaining patient rooms
- Taking vital signs and obtaining lab specimens
- Charting and documenting patient information
- Escorting patients and assisting with activities of daily living
- Managing clerical duties and ordering supplies
Candidates must provide documentation of an 80% or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam and proof of satisfactory completion of a Medical Assistant degree or Certified Nurses Aide certification.
Requirements include:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant degree or West Virginia C.N.A. license or PCT Certification
- CPR certification within 90 days of employment
- Glucoscan certification within 90 days of employment
- 1-2 years of experience preferred
