Job Summary

Action In Community is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Resident Assistant. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of our shelter residents, responding to calls, and providing support and information to callers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee daily shelter activities and enforce shelter rules.
  2. Remain on shelter premises at all times until authorized to leave.
  3. Maintain documentation and review written logs.
  4. Answer phones and greet visitors in accordance with shelter procedures.
  5. Provide support, information, and referral to ACTS callers.
  6. Conduct client intake and exit interviews in accordance with shelter procedures.
  7. Provide briefings to incoming staff members and record contact with residents.
  8. Respond to emergencies and prepare incident reports.
  9. Conduct daily facility and safety checks.
  10. Organize and supervise household cleaning duties and meal preparation.
  11. Greet donors and log donations in accordance with shelter procedures.
  12. Attend staff meetings and in-service training as assigned.
Requirements
  1. High School Diploma.
  2. Experience working in housing, particularly dealing with trauma services and homelessness.
  3. Mandatory CPR, First Aid, Airborne and Bloodborne pathogens, Domestic Violence, NARCAN, and food handling training provided by ACTS.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bilingual (Spanish and English).
Work Schedule

Wednesday through Friday from 7:30 am to 8 pm.
