Radiology Technologist Outpatient Imaging Center

As a Radiology Technologist at Corewell Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. Under the supervision of experienced radiologists, you will be responsible for performing accurate and efficient diagnostic exams in all areas of general radiology.
Key Responsibilities- Perform quality diagnostic exams after verifying patient identification and physician orders.
- Acquire an accurate patient history and document in the medical record.
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Perform radiographic and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patient's physical ability and/or limitations.
- Ensure STAT requests are relayed to radiologist in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate on an inter/intra-department level with customer service, administrative, medical staff, and peers.
- Demonstrate ability to proficiently operate diagnostic imaging equipment and follow policy for any malfunctions or quality control failures.
- Utilize ALARA standards for minimizing radiation exposure to patient, staff, and self.
- Provide procedural information/education to the patient/family prior to each exam.
- Contribute to the effective operations of the department by assisting fellow employees and staying in compliance with quality assurance and quality control.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently use hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS.
- Assists in the training of students/new hires.
- Ensures equipment is wiped down between patients and exam room is clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies.
- Maintains competency in all assigned areas including, but not limited to fluoroscopic, general diagnostic, orthopedic, and operating procedures.
- Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
- Training gained at student level.
- CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist 180 Days required.
- CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required.
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required.
- Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required.
