- Investigate fire incidents and determine their cause and origin.
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of inspections and investigations.
- Provide education and training to the public on fire safety and prevention.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure effective fire safety measures are in place.
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Four years of experience working as a Fire Inspector I.
- Hold relevant certifications such as ICC, NFPA, and IFSAC.
- Ability to wear a respirator and pass a medical exam/evaluation.
- Availability to work after scheduled hours and/or weekends and serve on an on-call basis.
The Fire Inspector will work in a fast-paced environment, often in emergency situations. The position requires the ability to read blueprints and codes, perform general math calculations, and write detailed reports.
