Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant for Creative Content and Video

The University of Mary is seeking a dedicated Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications with a focus on Creative Content and Video. This role is essential in spearheading the production of multimedia content aimed at enhancing the visibility of Marauders athletics across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation of engaging multimedia content for social media, game day events, and promotional activities.
  • Capture live game footage and edit highlight reels to showcase athletic performances.
  • Manage and curate department social media accounts, developing an editorial calendar to streamline content delivery.
  • Oversee in-game productions for live webcasts and videoboards across multiple sports.
  • Assist individual teams with their social media presence and contribute to website maintenance.
  • Act as the primary media contact for designated teams as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the department's communication efforts.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, along with full-time enrollment in a graduate program.
  • Eligibility for admission to Graduate Studies at the University of Mary is mandatory.
  • Experience in producing various forms of media content, including written, visual, and video.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design and video editing.
  • A background in communication, journalism, public relations, sports management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Prior experience in college athletics or a university public relations setting is advantageous.
  • Ability to shoot and edit video content, including live events and interviews.
  • Demonstrated skills in video and photo editing, as well as graphic design using Adobe tools.
  • Strong communication abilities across oral, written, and social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of social media trends and practices is essential.
  • Photography skills are a plus.
  • The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
