Role Summary

The Supply Chain Manager of Production Planning is a key figure in our organization, responsible for the strategic oversight and enhancement of production and planning within our supply chain operations. This senior position plays a crucial role in ensuring that our manufacturing processes align with the demands of our product lines, particularly at our production facility.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Demand Analysis: Conducting thorough evaluations of market dynamics, historical sales data, and forecasts to accurately predict the demand for our pharmaceutical offerings. This requires close collaboration with commercial and marketing teams to gather essential insights.
  2. Inventory Oversight: Managing the levels of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods to avoid shortages or excess inventory. This includes optimizing stock levels while considering factors such as shelf life and production timelines.
  3. Production Coordination: Formulating production schedules based on demand forecasts and current inventory, ensuring that our manufacturing teams are aligned for timely product availability.
  4. Supply Chain Management: Engaging with suppliers, distributors, and logistics partners to maintain a seamless supply chain. This involves nurturing relationships with external stakeholders to guarantee the timely delivery of materials.
  5. Risk Assessment: Identifying potential supply chain disruptions, such as delays in material delivery or regulatory changes, and developing strategies to mitigate these risks to ensure operational continuity.
  6. Process Optimization: Regularly reviewing and refining supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs, while implementing innovative technologies to streamline operations.
  7. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that all supply chain activities comply with industry regulations and quality standards, maintaining accurate documentation as required by regulatory authorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations management; a master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain or production planning within the pharmaceutical or biotech sectors, with consulting experience considered a plus.
  • Strong grasp of supply chain management principles, with APICS certification preferred.
  • Proficient in analyzing complex data and making informed decisions to enhance production and planning efficiency.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP, is highly desirable.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • A proactive approach to support team efforts as needed.
